We, Too, Love The Drugs Who Must Not Be Named...

If you’re here, you probably know me as a Nurse Practitioner and private practice owner specializing in weight loss and hormone optimization. When my partner and I founded this practice, we had one goal: move beyond the rigid, insurance-driven algorithms of modern medicine.

We wanted to treat people—not just their lab results.

So, we did what any passionate, slightly obsessive providers would do: we invested thousands of dollars in continuing education to master hormones, metabolism, and regenerative medicine. Because, believe you me, they don’t teach this in NP school. You get a brief overview—"here’s the primary male hormone, here’s the primary female hormone, they disappear as you age, things go to shit, and that’s just how it is." And that’s where the conversation ends.

Beyond Just Weight Loss: Addressing the Root Cause

Many patients come to me with a clear goal:

“Get me off my blood pressure meds.”

“Help me get off my cholesterol meds.” (And, to be fair, I loathe cholesterol medications, but that’s another conversation for another day.)

I knew that correcting insulin resistance was key, but what I didn’t initially know was exactly how to do it sustainably. So, refer back to the paragraph above about spending thousands of dollars to specialize, to become a niche provider, a one-off, and to serve the people—not the system.

All this to say—this practice was never meant to be ‘just another weight loss clinic.’

We built it to be accessible, affordable, and relatable. We designed it to ensure that patients get treated as individuals—not as numbers pushed through an insurance-driven algorithm.

Weight Loss Is a Bonus—Not the Goal

Yes, weight loss is amazing for your body. It improves metabolic health, reduces inflammation, and decreases your risk of chronic disease. But it’s only a symptom of something that went wrong further upstream.

This is why we won’t just push the drugs that must not be named. Our real passion? Correcting the root cause. Because the best weight loss plan isn’t just one that works—it’s one that lasts.

What’s Next?

Stay tuned! I’m working on updating the website to reflect our efforts. But between that, serving as a director and practitioner at another office (for a little while longer), and co-owning S&N Health, life is a little chaotic.

If you’ve been a patient, are thinking about becoming one, or just want to follow along, hang tight. We’re navigating these challenges together, and we’ll figure it out—like we always do.
